Enjoy good company, old traditions, a new season, and homemade apple cake as we celebrate our culture and welcome Spring 2023!
Celebrate St. Brigid’s Day here at The Séamus Ennis Art Centre with one of our amazing, relaxed and enjoyable, 2.5 hour workshops coming soon!
Start the day with the lighting of a candle at the start of the workshop will symbolise longer brighter days ahead.
In the first part of this wonderfully mindful and fun filled workshop, we will be using a bundle of rushes as we learn how to weave various styles of Brigid’s Crosses before stepping through Brigid's Girdle while saying a personal prayer for protection in the year ahead.
Every participant will take home a plant as a symbol of growth, renewal, and Spring.
Share your memories of Brigid’s Day traditions and other chat over some homemade Apple Cake, as was traditionally baked throughout rural Ireland to mark this feast day.
This truly beautiful day is a great way to mark the beginning of spring but be warned, tickets will sell out fast as places are limited!
