ALISON BARRY

“A Storytelling”

ART EXHIBITION – ALISON BARRY

Alison Barry is an artist working from her home in Limerick.  Her current use of soft pastel, charcoal and oils allow a sense of freedom to my expression as an artist.  Being self-taught she is constantly learning and developing her style  which has been described as contemporary in its feel, emotive, moody and atmospheric.

'Capturing the antics and character of Irish wildlife, 'A storytelling' is a new collection of mixed media work to include rooks, hares and foxes..

A "storytelling of rooks" is a poetic collective noun for these highly intelligent, communal birds, referring to their noisy, social, and intelligent nature. These corvids, often found in large rookeries, are known for their complex social structures, monogamous bonds, and the seemingly communicative, rhythmic chatter that resembles ancient fables.

This series of work invites the viewer to see these animals as more than wildlife, to see how they interact and live their lives as individuals with character.'

This exhibition will be on show in our Easter Snow Gallery from Tuesday 2nd June - 17th August 2026, open daily from 10:00am-4.00 p.m.
