Glass Painting Workshop

This creative glass-painting workshop is facilitated by Katie Spiers, an award-winning glass artist and sculptor with a background in ceramics, stained glass, and glass painting. Katie has taught glass workshops in schools and galleries, including the Hugh Lane Gallery, and has exhibited nationally and internationally, with work shown at the RHA Annual Exhibition, Somerset House, and the Ireland Glass Biennale.

Participants will explore colour, transparency, and mark-making by painting on glass bottles using vitrail (faux stained-glass) paints. The workshop includes experimentation with brush techniques and a marbling process, where paint is floated on water and the glass dipped to create organic, flowing patterns.

Each participant will also write a short letter, message, or wish to place inside their decorated bottle, combining visual art with creative writing and personal storytelling.
