Take one part jazz diva, one part true rock chick, add a generous measure of gentleman of jazz, and the result is a cocktail of love songs, jazz standards, ballads, garnished with a twist of dry humour. For the past year, Carmel McCreagh, Flo McSweeney and Fiachra Trench have been bringing their show, Love And All That Jazz, to audiences throughout Ireland to great acclaim. Songs by Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Sondheim, Joni, Jacques Brel and more are all presented with style and sass by this trio of renowned Irish musicians.
Fiachra Trench is a composer, arranger, producer, keyboardist and musical director whose credits include Altan, Paul Brady, The Boomtown Rats, The Chieftains, The Corrs, Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy, Paul McCartney/Wings, Van Morrison, The Pogues and Wet Wet Wet.
Carmel McCreagh has appeared at festivals and venues throughout Ireland, entertaining audiences with her soulful interpretations of songs from the Great American Songbook as well as contemporary and original songs from her critically acclaimed albums, Nice Girl and Skylark. She recently released a third album, 13 Stories.
Flo McSweeney has toured extensively with Moving Hearts and The Commitments; she is a regular guest vocalist with the Hot House Big Band and has been a part of many projects with Bill Whelan of Riverdance fame (including the Yeats/Beckett Festival at the Abbey Theatre and An Evening with W.B. Yeats at the National Concert Hall). Her new album, Picture in a Frame, is set for release in early 2019.
