The Antique Bayeux Stitch as Modern Style Embroidery with Uisce
Suitable for adults & teenagers ages 16+

This workshop is designed for both beginners and those who have some experience with needle work.

At this 5 hour workshop you will learn a rare medieval technique of hand stitching: the stitch that was used in the exceptional art piece – The Bayeux Tapestry, created in the 11th century. This is an ancient technique but we will work it out through a modern design and with a variety of materials: colourful wool, cotton and linen threads, beads and sequins. We will also apply some goldwork methods, using metallic threads and shiny kid leather. You will choose your linen background fabric for the embroidery from variety of colours.

From 10:30am to 4:30pm (inc. 1 hour lunch break)

Admission: €80 (materials included)

All materials are included, tools will be provided for the duration of the workshop and participants will receive a helpful handout.
