The Piper’s Garden was officially opened by President Michael D. Higgins in July 2015 at the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre (SEAC). The garden is named ‘Gardín an Phíobaire’ (The Piper’s Garden) in celebration of the life and music of our namesake, piper and archivist Séamus Ennis.
The Garden Party summer series, held in the outdoor venue, has hosted international and Irish acts including such great names as, Rodney Crowell, Horslips, Moving Hearts, Ushers Island, Wyvern Lingo, Lisa Hannigan, Stockton’s Wing, Eddi Reader, Donovan, Hudson Taylor and The Four of Us, to name but a few.
The Piper’s Garden also hosts creative workshops, summer camps, family events including cinema, live music and dance, and Halloween theatrical events.
With a capacity of 500, the venue provides an intimate, boutique atmosphere for patrons and an opportunity for artists to perform up close and personal with their audience.
