The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre are delighted to welcome Mary Coughlan & Ultan Conlon and their all star band to the intimate TSEAC theatre for a truly magical musical experience.
Irish legend MARY COUGHLAN handpicked ULTAN CONLON to go on the road along with an all-star band - Jimmy Higgins (Christy Moore & The Stunning), Miceal O'Connor (Sharon Shannon) & bass player (tbc) to bring their inimitable sound to venues across Ireland.
Mary is Ireland’s greatest jazz and blues singer and “one of our most openly raw performers” (Hotpress). In a career fast approaching its 40th year, she is about to enter its next, exciting stage and is delighted to explore this stage with a new podcast “You’re not listening” & Irish tour with Ultan. Ultan’s songwriting flair & virtuosity have fascinated Mary for years. Recently she grabbed & recorded Ultan’s songs “Hall of Mirrors” and “The Lumberjack”.
Ultan’s performances have been described as a “rare treat filled with original music, beguiling backstories & loud laughter which make for a wonderful, uplifting evening”
8 of Ultan’s singles have topped the RTE Radio 1 Airplay charts with current evocative & rhapsodic single “Paradise Lane” from his new album “The Starlight Ballroom” residing in the RTE recommends list for three consecutive weeks.
This amalgam of talent is sure to captivate, fascinate & resonate with audiences around Ireland.
