We are delighted to have Conleth Gent return to the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre for a weekend workshop in woodcarving and wood sculpture. This course is primarily aimed as an introduction to woodcarving, however all abilities will be catered for through individual tuition.

The main focus of the weekend will be creativity and individuality and nurturing it through the medium of woodcarving.

Participants will be introduced to the tools and shown how to sharpen and maintain them. The materials and characteristics of the different woods, and the finishing methods and techniques of woodcarving will also be demonstrated. It is envisaged that each participant will finish with a completed woodcarving to take home at the end of the weekend.

All tools and materials will be provided.
The workshop will run from 10-4pm on Saturday and Sunday in our outdoor covered courtyard. Participants will attend for both days.
Early booking advised as places are limited.

Conleth Gent has exhibited widely throughout Ireland and has been a multi-award winner at Sculpture in Context in The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin.
