Learn the incredible versatile technique of fret-working (also known as piercing) on precious metals.
Master the use of the jewellers saw and explore the potential of this fascinating technique. Any line or design you can draw with a pencil you can cut with a jewellers saw. The possibilities are only limited by your creativity!
The day long course will cover:
Basic Fret-working techniques, layout and design, material selection, working in 2D and 3D, soldering and using blowtorches to add components, filing and cleaning up your jewellery. Learn how to create a variety of finishes and surface treatments and much more.
This workshop is suitable for beginners but would be of interest to participants with previous jewellery skills experience as well. All tools and silver/brass supplied.
The workshop will take place in our outdoor covered courtyard from 10am-5pm.
