After a 3 year hiatus, we are delighted to announce that the May Film Tour, organised by access>CINEMA and the Irish Film Institute to coincide with the Bealtaine Festival, is returning for 2022.
This year the Bealtaine Festival will be continuing to celebrate the theme of In(ter)dependence.
Singing and the feeling of community through the formation of a choir are at the core of the film Military Wives and as public singing was not allowed for so long during the pandemic, it is a celebration of the collective joy of being able to coming together to sing again.
The inspirational story of friendship, love, and support on the home front. A group of women come together as their partners serve in Afghanistan. Together they form the very first military wives choir, helping each other through some of life’s most difficult moments and also becoming a media sensation and global movement in the process. Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) directs Oscar® Nominee and BAFTA® Winner Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour) and BAFTA® Nominee Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) in this feel good crowd-pleaser.
Starring: Kristin Scott Thomas, Sharon Horgan, Greg Wise, Jason Flemyng
