TSEAC are delighted to welcome this spectacular collaboration for an evening of captivating, contemporary, traditional and folk music.
Alfi:
Multi-award winning trio Alfi is the collaborative project of musicians Fiachra Meek, Ryan McAuley and Alannah Thornburgh. Featuring an unusual line-up of harp, five string banjo and uilleann pipes, Alfi explores a combination of traditional Irish and Appalachian music and song. Nominated for ‘Best Emerging Folk Artist’ at the RTE Folk Awards, Alfi have also received numerous accolades including the ‘US Embassy Creative Minds Award’, The ‘Caoimhin O Dochartaigh Award’ at Imbolc International Music Festival and Molloy Award at “Birmingham TradFest”. The trio released their EP ‘Wolves in the Woods’ in 2019 to great critical acclaim, following the release with a successful tour around Ireland and the UK. Alfi release their debut album Say Old Man in Summer 2023.
Steph Geremia, Alan Kelly, Kris Drever & Aaron Jones:
Acclaimed Irish flautist and singer, Steph Geremia will be joined by Scotland’s award-winning guitarist and vocalist, Kris Drever (Lau), piano accordion maestro, Alan Kelly and bouzouki powerhouse, Aaron Jones (Old Blind Dogs).
Performing songs from the Irish, folk and Americana traditions as featured on her new album, produced by renowned Scottish musician, John McCusker (Mark Knopfler band). Perhaps best known in collaboration with the Alan Kelly Gang and Eddi Reader, Steph also brings a wealth of musical scholarship to her love for Ireland’s North Connaught tradition, as displayed on her sparkling 2018 release Up She Flew.
