The Bayeux Stitch
Embroidery workshop with Agnieszka ‘Uisce’.

The workshop is designed for both beginners and those who have some experience with needle work.

During this 4 hour workshop you will learn a rare medieval technique of hand stitching; the stitch that was used in the exceptional art piece – The Bayeux Tapestry, created in the 11th century.

The Bayeux stitch is not restricted only to medieval motifs, it can be used also in modern projects!

You will learn the technique step by step, starting with transferring a pattern onto fabric. We will be embroidering on the raw linen with fine wool fibres, just like the original work was done.

All materials for the workshop are included and the tools will be provided for the duration of the workshop. Participants will receive a helpful handout.

Places are extremely limited, please book early in advance to avoid disappointment.

The tutor: Agnieszka ‘Uisce’ Jakubczyk, is an embroiderer and award winning weaver. She combines embroidery and weaving with other needle crafts to create unique art pieces. She has wide knowledge in many disciplines of textile art which she shares generously with her students.

From 10am to 3pm (with a break for lunch at 12 noon).

Doors Open: 10:00am
Commences At: 10:00am
In advance: €65
